Historic Gathering of Birth and Foster Parents

The Youth Law Center is leading efforts across the country through our Quality Parenting Initiative to unite birth and foster families to create and implement shared policy solutions, educate policy makers and develop and implement model programs that support partnership. Birth and foster families are most invested in children’s healthy development and happiness, but have historically been separated both in practice and on policy change and currently face many barriers to coordination and partnership. We are sharing this Press Release featuring some of this work that we are doing in partnership with Casey Family Programs and the National Alliance for Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds to move the field. This national convening was followed by a similar very successful QPI Florida convening, with plans for more in Florida, California, and across the country in order to mobilize families together as a force for change for children and youth.

Thank you for supporting our work!
