Jennifer Rodriguez Presents Florida Summit Keynote Address
On August 25, YLC Staff Attorney Jennifer Rodriguez delivered the keynote address for the 12th annual Florida Dependency Summit, an event that united 2000 child protective investigators, community-based care staff, foster parents, judges, attorneys, medical and mental health providers, child advocates, law enforcement, education and legal experts to discuss ways to improve Florida’s foster care system. Jennifer’s keynote focused on the need to re-center Florida’s child welfare reform on the needs of children through expecting, providing and supporting high quality parenting to children and youth in foster care. Thirteen sites in Florida and nine sites in California are currently participating in the Youth Law Center’s Quality Parenting Initiative to accomplish this goal.
