Orange County JDAI Training

Youth Law Center attorneys Sue Burrell, Deborah Escobedo and Maria Ramiu conducted a facility assessment training for the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) on November 3rd and 4th. The Orange County, California JDAI site hosted the two-day training on how to conduct a juvenile detention facility assessment using the JDAI conditions of confinement standards and assessment tools. Facility assessment teams from Orange County, California and Ada County, Idaho along with other juvenile probation department personnel from both sites attended the training which covered classification, health care, access, programming, environment, safety, restraints, training and supervision issues in juvenile detention.
