YLC, CYC and Foster CAre Ombudsman Trains Licensing

On April 14th, Jennifer Rodriguez, YLC Staff Attorney and Damon King, YLC Skadden Fellow presented a training with the California Youth Connection and the Foster Care Ombudsman’s Office to the California Community Care Licensing Division Children’s Residential Licensing Program Analysts. These CCLD staff investigate complaints about group homes and are critical to YLC’s efforts to monitor and enforce the rights of foster youth placed in institutional care. The training covered the latest research regarding the impact of congregate care for very young children, how to engage and interview youth during complaint investigations and suggested indicators for assessing whether a facility is providing developmentally appropriate trauma informed care.
