YLC Explores the Use of Affidavits in Juvenile Cases

This year’s National Juvenile Defender Summit, held October 26-28, 2012 in San Juan Puerto Rico, featured YLC Staff Attorney Sue Burrell in a workshop on “Bolstering Your Case: Innovative Uses of Declarations and Affidavits.”  With Simmie Baer and Dr. Marty Beyer, Sue explored ways to use expert opinions to effectively highlight aspects of the defense case that might otherwise be lost in motions and post-sentencing challenges.  The Summit is an annual invitational event bringing together hundreds of juvenile defenders and advocates from around the country.
