YLC Participated in Traveling Training

YLC participated in the Traveling Training for legal services advocates sponsored by the Legal Aid Association of California (LAAC) in Fresno, California on November 17, 2009. LAAC developed the Traveling Training series to meet training needs identified at a 2001 meeting of California legal services advocates. The goal is to bring high-quality substantive trainings advocates in Sacramento, Fresno, the Inland Empire, and San Diego, and LAAC designs the training agenda for each event in collaboration with local advocates. The 2009 Fresno training is LAAC’s 11th Traveling Training and the 5th in Fresno. YLC joined with the Public Interest Law Project and Bay Area Legal Aid to conduct a two-part, three hour training, on benefits for children in out-of-home care. In addition to legal services advocates, participants included community members involved in The California Endowment’s Healthy Communities Initiative. LAAC recorded the session with support from The California Endowment for use by in other Healthy Community sites.
