YLC Presentation at APHA Conference

On September 11th, Jennifer Rodriguez, YLC Executive Director, presented at the American Public Humane Association’s conference for Public Welfare Attorneys. Jennifer facilitated a panel of foster youth who discussed the need for the audience of state and local child welfare agency attorneys to take an approach that helps their agency clients remember their mission of meeting the needs of children, youth and families. Specifically, the workshop covered the need to ensure normal developmental activities for foster youth, for oversight and monitoring of child care institutions to be comprehensive and include quality, and to ensure permanency efforts so all young people live in families, rather than insitutional care.
