YLC Working with Foster Youth Services

On April 19th, Jennifer Rodriguez, YLC Staff Attorney, facilitated a discussion with Northern California Foster Youth Services Coordinators on developing local collaborations to serve infants, toddlers and preschoolers in foster care. FYS coordinators identified a number of action steps such as: connecting with local Early Head Start/Head Start providers to educate them on how to identify and best serve children in foster care, identifying how many children are enrolled in early childhood education programs, and reaching out to local First 5 commissions, Early Intervention Providers and Mental Health to coordinate services.
